Chesline Pierre Paul or Ches for short, is a digital media & language activist, digital activist-startupreneur, co-founder of the Decolonial Perspectives & Practices Hub, independent scholar & global thought leader on anti-coloniality.
She is fluent in 5 languages & taught herself her own native Indigenous language. I had an incredibly powerful conversation with Ches about healing inter-generational trauma, living outside of your ego, using your business as a tool for social justice, language-based liberation, and that period between code-switching or switching from one language to the next.
I’m referring to the time that you all of a sudden are very aware of speaking a different language and needing a bit of extra time to gather your thoughts and say what’s on your mind. That is called code-switching and it’s one of the struggles many multilingual speakers deal with every day.
Tune into the show to hear my chat with Ches!
